Hawaii Tour 2020 Prenatal, Postnatal, and Couples Workshops

Workshops on Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8

Prenatal Workshop:
Learn the whole-body techniques to prepare for birth and prevent core and pelvic floor dysfunction, including diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and pubis symphysis. Learn the tools you need to make your pregnancies and births much more physically manageable and much more enjoyable. There will be integration techniques interwoven with a movement practice to help you learn to down-regulate your nervous system, an important component of giving birth. Go from feeling stiff to feeling free with your body changes. 

Postpartum Workshop:
For women who have fallen through the cracks of the medical paradigm and who find that conventional-exercise models have failed to address diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, tight hips, and sacroiliac dysfunction, this workshop is for you. The functional movements employed here are steeped in biomechanics, alignment, and functional movement to help you manage and rehab core and pelvic floor dysfunction. Acquire some tremendous tools so that you don’t have to suffer in silence, and go from feeling like an alien in your own body to embodied, strong, and even more capable than ever. 

Couples’ Workshop:
Learn to connect as partners in the beautiful experience of birth. Enjoy a safe prenatal yoga class, get empowered as you create a birth plan and learn about your options, and explore ways to relieve pregnancy discomfort together through massage and Rebozo, an ancient Mayan technique to help baby find the optimal position for birth, easing pregnancy pain. Equip yourself with the tools for a better birth while creating a fun and bonding experience.

Intuitive Movement and Yoga Nidra

Intuitive Movement for women’s health is a nourishing combination of dance, yoga, pilates, and functional exercises. Explore biomechanics with guided flows that help you find function and flight. Class is diastasis and prolapse safe. Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep,” is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, induced by guided meditation.

Slow Down Saturday

Do you need a permission slip to take a break?
Could your mind and body use a mini-retreat?
Would you like to find simple but effective ways to release tension and manage your stress?

In two 30-minute sessions, health coach Pamela Hernandez and movement teacher Maria Savvenas will teach practical techniques to release hidden tension in your body and manage your stress cycle.

Join us at Thrive Personal Fitness (located at 2274 E Sunshine in the Ollis/Akers/Arney building) for a morning of slowing down and revising your stress management strategy.

Your morning starts when the doors open at 9:30 am. Make yourself a beverage and grab a snack before we kick off the first session at 10 am.

The sessions will run concurrently. Pick to move with Maria to start your day or work on mindset matters with Pamela while you finish your tea. There will be a 15-minute break between sessions to switch rooms, stretch and refresh.

Every participant will receive a thank you bag with goodies, information and offers.
The cost for this event is only $39 per person but you must register in advance.
